About JustCompare

Is the comparison really free?

Yes — always. The comparison, the results and the personal advice are completely free and non-binding for you. We are compensated by insurers for brokering under Swiss law (KVG Art. 92), and all insurers pay exactly the same rate. This never influences which options we show you.

How independent is JustCompare really?

JustCompare is not owned by any insurance group. You see all 52 approved Swiss health insurers — ranked by what saves you the most money, not by commission. Our business model is designed so that we benefit when you find the right insurer, not a specific one.

How does JustCompare make money?

Swiss law (KVG Art. 92) requires every insurer to pay brokers a uniform fee for each new policy brokered. We receive this fee from whichever insurer you choose. Because every insurer pays the same amount, we have no financial reason to favour one over another.

Do I have to register to use the comparison?

No registration is required to start the comparison. You only provide your contact details at the very last step, and only if you want personalised results or advice sent to you.

Data & privacy

Your data is safe

What happens to my personal data?

Your data is stored exclusively on certified servers in Switzerland, encrypted end-to-end. We never sell or share your data with third parties. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us at datenschutz@justcompare.ch.

Is my data shared with insurers without my consent?

No. Your data is only forwarded to an insurer when you explicitly request a quote or a switch. We always ask for your confirmation before any data is passed on.

Which data protection law applies?

We comply fully with the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP), which came into force in September 2023. For customers resident in the EU, we also comply with the GDPR.

Switching & deadlines

Changing your health insurance

Do I have to switch if I use the comparison?

Absolutely not. The comparison is entirely non-binding. You receive your results and can decide at your own pace whether, when and with whom you switch. We only act on your explicit instruction.

What is the deadline to switch health insurance in Switzerland?

For the standard basic insurance (KVG), the cancellation deadline is 30 November each year for a change effective 1 January. Some supplemental insurances have different deadlines — our advisors can tell you exactly what applies in your situation.

How long does switching take?

Once you have submitted your request, the actual transfer typically takes between 2 and 4 weeks. The new insurer handles the administrative process; you just sign and send the cancellation letter — we prepare it for you.

Can I switch mid-year?

Yes, under certain conditions. If your current insurer raises its premiums, you have 1 month to cancel. If you move to a different canton, you may also switch mid-year. Our advisors can check whether your situation qualifies.

Advice & support

Getting help

Can I get personal advice?

Of course. A certified Swiss insurance advisor takes time for your questions — by phone, video or in person, in German, French, Italian and English. There is no sales pressure and no fee.

Who are the JustCompare advisors?

Our advisors are certified Swiss insurance brokers (FINMA-registered) with years of experience in the Swiss health insurance market. They are required by law to act in your best interest.

What if I have a problem after switching?

We support you even after the switch. If there are any issues with your new insurer — billing errors, coverage questions or disputes — contact us and we will help resolve them at no extra charge.

Still have questions?

Our certified advisors are happy to help — free, non-binding and in your language.
