Coverage Includes

  • Medical services
  • Medications
  • Room and board in general hospital area
  • Costs abroad (up to twice Swiss treatment value)

Cost Participation

  • Annual deductible
  • 10% co-payment

  • Maximum 350 CHF for children

Employer's Accident Insurance

Premium Savings

For employees, taking out basic insurance without accident coverage can lead to premium savings of up to ten percent. Employees already enjoy accident protection through their employer, covering the insurance premiums.

Up to 10% savings on basic insurance premiums when accident coverage is provided by employer.

Coverage Scope

The accident insurance under the Accident Insurance Act (UVG) is not limited to work accidents but also applies to accidents at home or during leisure time.

Full coverage: Work, home, and leisure accidents included.

Part-time Employees

Part-time employees working less than eight hours per week for an employer are only insured against occupational accidents and occupational diseases.

Limited Coverage

Less than 8 hours per week = only occupational accident coverage. Additional accident protection through health insurance may be necessary.

After Employment Termination

After the termination of an employment relationship, accident protection continues for one more month and can be extended for six months by applying for a continuation insurance with SUVA.

Automatic Extension

Accident protection continues for one month after employment ends.

SUVA Continuation

Can be extended for six months by applying for continuation insurance with SUVA.

Important Notice

If the UVG protection expires, it's important to inform the health insurance company to avoid insurance gaps. Failure to notify may secure services according to KVG, but outstanding premiums must be paid.

Supplemental Insurance with Accident Coverage

Opting for an accident supplemental insurance enhances the scope of your statutory coverage by including services like alternative treatment methods and psychotherapeutic care without medical referral. Additionally, it enables preferred accommodation in hospitals, whether in semi-private or private rooms.

Enhanced Coverage

  • Alternative treatment methods
  • Psychotherapeutic care without medical referral
  • Preferred hospital accommodation (semi-private/private rooms)
  • Decision should be based on existing employer accident insurance
